Aliette Fungicide
Available Offer
Aliette® Fungicide (Fosetyl-Aluminium 80 WP) – The Systemic Root Guardian
The ultimate defense against Downy Mildew and Phytophthora Root Rots in Grapes, Cardamom, and Citrus.
Aliette® is a specialized systemic fungicide by Bayer CropScience, widely available through major distribution networks like Rallis India Limited. Unlike ordinary fungicides that only sit on the leaf surface, Aliette works from the inside out. It contains Fosetyl-Aluminium, a unique molecule that travels both Up and Down (Ambimobile) within the plant's vascular system.
Best Used For: Protecting high-value crops from "Water Molds" (Oomycetes) during the monsoon season. It effectively treats root rot even when sprayed on the leaves.
Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits
- ⏱️Rapid Absorption: Absorbed by leaves within 1 hour, ensuring quick action against infection.
- ?️Immunity Booster: Triggers Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR), acting like a vaccine that boosts the plant's own immune system.
- ⏳Dual Mobility (Ambimobile): Unique capability to move downwards to the roots and upwards to new shoots, providing complete cover.
- ?️Rainfastness: Once absorbed, it cannot be washed off by rain, making it perfect for the Monsoon season.
- ?Root Health: The only fungicide that cures root rot through foliar (leaf) spray application.

How It Works: Mode of Action
Aliette operates on a "Multi-Site" principle, making it very difficult for fungi to develop resistance.
- Direct Fungistatic Action: The active ingredient ($C_6H_{18}AlO_9P_3$) breaks down into ethyl phosphonate, which directly stops fungal spores from germinating and penetrating the leaf.
- Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR): It stimulates the plant to produce its own defense proteins (Phytoalexins) and thicken cell walls, effectively starving the fungus.
- Source-to-Sink Movement: It moves from the leaves ("source") down to the roots ("sink"), protecting the entire plant structure from soil-borne diseases.
Note: This unique action makes it a "Plant Health Promoter" as well as a fungicide.
Target Crops & Pests
[Image of downy mildew symptoms on grape leaves]| Crop | Target Pest(s) |
|---|---|
| Grapes | Downy Mildew (Plasmopara viticola) |
| Cardamom | Azhukal (Capsule Rot), Rhizome Rot, Damping Off |
| Citrus / Orange | Foot Rot, Gummosis, Citrus Decline (Phytophthora spp.) |
Dosage & Application Guide
The Golden Rule: Always follow the "Dose per Acre" for accurate results.
Dosage per Acre, Litre, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)
| Crop | Dose (g / Acre) | Water (L / Acre) | Dose (g / Litre) | PHI (Days) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grapes | 800 g – 1 kg | 400 – 500 L | 2.0 – 2.5 g | 30 Days |
| Cardamom | 1.0 – 1.2 kg | 350 – 400 L | 3.0 g | 90 Days |
| Citrus / Vegetables | Based on Canopy | As Needed | 2.5 g | - |
*PHI = Pre-Harvest Interval: The minimum number of days to wait between the last spray and harvesting.
How to Apply: Best Practices
- Timing: Best applied strictly as a Preventive spray (e.g., 3-5 leaf stage in grapes) or at the first sign of disease.
- Mixing: ? CRITICAL WARNING: Do NOT mix Aliette with Copper-based fungicides (like Bordeaux mixture or Copper Oxychloride). It causes severe leaf burning. Maintain a 14-day gap between Aliette and Copper sprays.
- Coverage: Ensure full canopy coverage. For root rot, spray leaves thoroughly to allow the chemical to travel down to the roots.
- Safety: Always wear PPE (gloves, mask, goggles). Wash hands thoroughly after use.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is Aliette manufactured by Rallis or Bayer?
Aliette® is a registered trademark and product of Bayer CropScience. However, Rallis India acts as a major distribution partner, so you will often find it at Rallis dealerships or listed under their portfolio in some catalogs.
2. Can I mix Aliette with Copper Fungicides?
NO. Never mix Aliette with Copper. The acidity of Aliette releases free copper ions ($Cu^{2+}$) rapidly, which will burn your crop. Keep a 14-day gap between the two.
3. Can I use Aliette for curing Root Rot?
Yes. Aliette is one of the few fungicides that can be sprayed on leaves to cure root infections (Phytophthora) because it travels downwards (basipetally) to the roots.
4. Is it effective against Powdery Mildew?
No. Aliette is specific to Oomycetes (Downy Mildew, Late Blight, Phytophthora). For Powdery Mildew, consider using Rallis Contaf (Hexaconazole) or similar products.
5. What happens if it rains after spraying?
Aliette is rapidly absorbed into the leaf system, typically within 1 hour. Once absorbed, it is rainfast and will not wash away, making it excellent for the monsoon season.
