ADAMA Atranex Atrazine 50% WP – Product Overview

ADAMA Atranex is a wettable-powder herbicide containing Atrazine 50% WP. ADAMA India lists maize and sugarcane and describes Atranex for selective pre- and post-emergence use. The correct crop, weed spectrum, dose, timing, water volume, application frequency and waiting period must be taken from the current Atranex pack label.

Atrazine belongs to the triazine family and is classified as HRAC/WSSA Group 5. This classification supports resistance planning; it does not establish crop safety, dose equivalence or compatibility with another herbicide.

Product scienceHow Atrazine Works

Atrazine inhibits photosystem II electron transport in susceptible weeds, limiting the photosynthetic process needed for growth. Uptake and performance depend on the labelled use pattern, weed species, growth stage, soil and moisture conditions, application quality and weather. A Group 5 classification must never be treated as proof that Atranex is suitable for an unlisted crop or a missed application window.

Useful detailsCrop and Weed Guidance
CropUse boundary
MaizeUse only for the weeds, timing and rate printed on the current Atranex label.
SugarcaneUse only for the weeds, timing and rate printed on the current Atranex label.

No universal acre, pump or per-litre dose is stated here. Do not transfer directions from another Atrazine brand to Atranex.

How to applyApplication Planning
  • Read the pack first: confirm the crop, target weeds, crop stage, dose, water volume and permitted application window.
  • Measure accurately: do not assume that one retail pack equals one acre.
  • Calibrate equipment: use the nozzle and spray volume specified on the current label and avoid overlaps, drift and missed strips.
  • Do not assume a tank mix: recommendation cards are standalone alternatives, never automatic compatibility advice.
  • Protect non-target areas: prevent spray, runoff and equipment wash water from reaching neighbouring crops, people, livestock or water bodies.
  • Follow label restrictions: re-entry, harvest, storage, disposal and first-aid directions on the supplied pack take precedence.
Useful detailsResistance Stewardship

Repeated reliance on one Group 5 herbicide can select resistant weeds. Record survivors, prevent seed production and combine label-approved chemical choices with suitable crop rotation, cultivation, competitive crop stands and field hygiene. If a separate treatment is needed, select it by crop, target weeds, timing and a different effective HRAC group where practical. Do not apply products together merely because they are shown as recommendations.

Use with careSafety and Disclaimer

Before opening the pack, read the current Atranex label and leaflet. Wear the personal protective equipment specified there, avoid skin, eye and inhalation exposure, and keep the product away from children, food, feed, livestock and water bodies. Store, handle, clean equipment and dispose of packaging exactly as directed. If exposure occurs, follow the label first-aid instructions and seek medical advice with the container or label available.

Important: The current label attached to the purchased product is the final authority. Mana Agri Mart does not recommend off-label crops, weeds, rates, timings, mixtures or performance guarantees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Atrazine 50% WP.

Which crops are listed by ADAMA India?

Maize and sugarcane. The current pack label controls the exact registered use.

Is Atranex only a pre-emergence herbicide?

ADAMA describes pre- and post-emergence use, but timing is crop- and label-specific. Do not generalise one timing to every field.

Can I use the same dose for maize and sugarcane?

Do not assume so. Follow the exact crop row on the current Atranex pack label.

Can another recommended herbicide be mixed with Atranex?

No mixing instruction is implied. Check both labels and obtain qualified crop-specific advice.
