Pendixtra Herbicide (Pendimethalin 38.7% CS)
The Advanced "Clean Sweep" Pre-Emergence Weed Control
Pendixtra is a next-generation herbicide designed to stop weeds before they even start. Using advanced Capsule Suspension (CS) technology, it releases the active ingredient slowly, giving your crops longer protection without damaging the soil or the plant. It is the perfect solution for farmers facing labor shortages, allowing you to replace expensive manual weeding with a single, safe, and effective spray.
Best For: Preventing the growth of grasses and broadleaf weeds in Cotton, Soybean, Chilli, Onion, and more.
Why Choose This Product? Key Benefits
- ⏱️Extended Protection: Unlike older sprays, the CS technology releases the chemical slowly, keeping your field weed-free for a longer duration.
- ?️Superior Crop Safety: The protective capsules prevent "crop burn" or shock, making it safe even for sensitive crops like Onion and Chilli.
- ⏳Huge Labor Savings: One spray replaces days of manual labor, saving you up to ₹3,000 - ₹5,000 per acre in weeding costs.
- ?️Weather Resistant: The capsules protect the chemical from evaporating in the hot sun (low volatility) and from breaking down under UV light.
- ?Boosts Yields: By killing weeds at the seed stage, your crop gets 100% of the soil nutrients, water, and sunlight from Day 1.

How It Works: Mode of Action
Pendixtra works as a Pre-Emergence Herbicide. It creates a thin chemical barrier on the top layer of the soil.
- Absorption: When weed seeds try to germinate, their young roots or shoots absorb the chemical from the soil.
- Disruption: The active ingredient stops the production of "microtubules" (essential for cell division) inside the weed.
- Elimination: The weed seedling cannot grow or divide its cells, causing it to die before it ever emerges above the ground.
Note: It does not kill established weeds (weeds that are already big). It only kills sprouting seeds.
Target Crops & Pests
| Crop | Target Pest(s) |
|---|---|
| Cotton & Soybean | Echinochloa (Jungle Rice), Digitaria, Trianthema (Carpet Weed) |
| Chilli & Onion | Amaranthus, Portulaca (Purslane), Parthenium, Phalaris |
| Groundnut & Mustard | Digitaria, Dactyloctenium, Chenopodium (Bathua) |
Dosage & Application Guide
The Golden Rule: Always follow the "Dose per Acre" for accurate results.
Dosage per Acre, Litre, & Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)
| Crop | Dose (ml / Acre) | Water (L / Acre) | Dose (ml / Litre) | PHI (Days) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton, Soybean | 600 - 700 ml | 200 L | 3.0 - 3.5 ml | Refer to Leaflet |
| Chilli, Onion, Groundnut | 600 - 700 ml | 200 L | 3.0 - 3.5 ml | Refer to Leaflet |
| Mustard, Cumin | 350 ml | 200 L | 1.75 ml | Refer to Leaflet |
*PHI = Pre-Harvest Interval: The minimum number of days to wait between the last spray and harvesting.
How to Apply: Best Practices
- Timing: Spray immediately after sowing (0 to 3 days) but BEFORE the weed or crop germinates. For transplanted crops (Chilli/Onion), spray 1-2 days before transplanting.
- Mixing: Shake the bottle well. Use the "WALES" method: Mix wettable powders first, then Pendixtra (CS), then ECs/surfactants.
- Coverage: Use a Knapsack sprayer with a Flat Fan or Flood Jet nozzle. Ensure a minimum of 200 Liters of water per acre to create a perfect chemical film on the soil.
- Safety: Always wear PPE (gloves, mask, goggles). Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not ingest or siphon by mouth.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can Pendixtra kill weeds that are already 4 inches tall?
No. Pendixtra is a pre-emergence herbicide. It only kills seeds as they sprout. It will not kill established perennial weeds like nutgrass.
2. Does it require soil moisture to work?
Yes. The soil must have sufficient moisture to activate the capsules. If the soil is dry, give a light irrigation (sprinkler) after spraying.
3. Is it safe for Cotton and Soybean?
Yes, absolutely. The CS formulation is specifically designed to be safe for these crops, preventing the stem burn often seen with older chemical sprays.
4. Can I mix it with Glyphosate?
Yes. For empty fields (before planting), you can mix Pendixtra with Glyphosate or Paraquat. Glyphosate kills existing weeds, and Pendixtra stops new ones from coming up.
5. What is the reentry interval?
Do not enter the field for 24 hours after spraying unless you are wearing protective gear.
